October is Fire Prevention Month | Putting Safety First

This October, we are proud to support Fire Prevention Month, a timely reminder of the importance of safeguarding lives, properties, and communities through effective fire safety measures.

At Link365, fire safety is a key consideration in much of what we do. From design and installation to handover and aftercare, we aim to deliver projects built on quality, care, and a strong focus on safety.

The Building Safety Act and Fire Safety
The Building Safety Act 2022 represents a landmark shift in how the UK manages building safety, with a strong focus on fire safety throughout the entire lifecycle of a building.

Key points include:
· Accountability & Dutyholders – Clear responsibilities for building owners, designers, and contractors in relation to fire safety measures.
· The Golden Thread – Accurate, accessible, and up-to-date information about a building’s safety, including fire systems, to ensure risks are managed effectively.
· Resident Safety – Greater involvement of residents, ensuring they are informed about fire risks and emergency procedures.
· Regulation & Oversight – The new Building Safety Regulator will oversee safety and performance, with fire safety at its core.

At Link365, we ensure every stage of our work aligns with these principles, providing our clients with the confidence that safety is never compromised.

Why Fire Prevention Matters
In the UK, fire services attended over 150,000 fire incidents in 2023 alone. Many of these could have been prevented with stronger awareness, proper maintenance, and compliance with safety legislation.

This month is a vital opportunity to:
· Carry out regular fire risk assessments
· Ensure alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers are maintained and tested
· Train staff and residents on evacuation procedures
· Promote a culture where fire safety is everyone’s responsibility
