Link365 was delighted to work with HG Construction once again on the recently completed New Kent Road project, located in Elephant and Castle.
This mixed-use development comprised 81 residential units across two blocks, with commercial and retail space on the ground and basement levels.
Block A consisted of two adjacent towers of 14 and 10 storeys, while Block B rose to seven storeys including a basement level. The blocks formed part of one monolithic structure that featured a two-storey commercial space and a podium slab at first-floor level, connecting Blocks A and B. This level included a beautifully landscaped outdoor living space for residents. The project also incorporated a single-storey basement.
Link365 successfully managed and coordinated the full mechanical and electrical requirements of the development, including supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of all M&E services.

The New Kent Road project presented logistical challenges, being situated on a London red route. To overcome restrictions on deliveries, a dedicated pit lane was provided to the rear of the development. All large deliveries had to arrive pre-slung and were craned directly into site. Due to limited storage capacity, all materials were managed on a strict ‘just in time’ basis, ensuring they were loaded to the relevant work areas immediately upon arrival.
Material loading on site was further complicated by the use of a small goods hoist. However, with careful planning and coordination, this was managed effectively. As pods and PUCs were already installed, second fix works were minimal, which streamlined the programme. Functional testing progressed smoothly, and specialist commissioning was undertaken for key plant items. Ventilation and domestic hot water commissioning were carried out in-house by Link365. Quality control was maintained throughout, with all elements of work thoroughly checked and recorded.
Link365 are proud to have delivered the New Kent Road project to both client and main contractor expectations. The project was completed within the agreed timeframes by a small but highly efficient team of operatives.
